Breaking Dawn

by Mandi

Last summer I discovered the brilliance of Stephenie Meyer.

On Saturday, the saga was complete. After waiting a year for Breaking Dawn to arrive, I finished it in two days. It would have taken less time, but I was actually busy on Saturday… shocking, I know!

When I started the book, I was wary. The preface left me thinking the worst, and then I was shocked at the turn of events that took place (I managed to stay completely spoiler free for this one!). But in the end, it was fantastic. I laughed, I cried, I cried some more…

And while I’m sad the series is complete, I’m thrilled with the way it ended. There was a sense of finality. Closure. It wasn’t open ended in the slightest. Loose ends were tied up. And that’s how a series should end. When it’s over, it should be over.

Kudos to Stephenie for this amazing series. Now I can’t wait for Midnight Sun – the first book of the series written from a different character’s perspective!

I just recently fell in love with the Twighlight series, and I’ve finished the first three but haven’t read Breaking Dawn yet (I’m working nights this week, and want to save the book for when I’m more than semi-awake). Glad to hear you liked it, though, I’m so excited to see how things turn out!

I am, to put it simply, dissapointed. All I’m going to say is that the charecters were nothing like how they really are. I want the old charecters back : (

You know, I felt that way the whole first half of the book. I was completely baffled by the new personalities the characters seemed to have. But the last half of the book put everything right again, in my opinion.

Coming back, having finished the book yesterday, and I also felt like you did Amanda. There were more than a few “wtf?” moments in the beginning of the book (proving Stephanie Meyers to be anything BUT predictable), but around the second half I really began to like it and the last chapter just sealed the deal. I thought the series ended exactly the way it should have :-)
