I'm here by way of the Christian Carnival. Nice to meet you!

I'm so glad you've rediscovered the grace of God. Different denominations and Christian movements emphasize the various aspects of the Godhead, and perhaps you've been out of balance on the law and judgment side of the equation.

As someone has said, "Love trumps all, except heresy."
May you continue to be attracted to the loveliness of Christ, as a moth to flame."

Blessings, e-Mom

Good insight, sweet Mk! I am currently zoning in on: Jesus is the most normal Chrsitian. The implications are staggering to a woman like me who has been around the church-block too many times to count.

If the statement is true, then (and didn't we already suspect it?) 99.999999% of what we "do" to be like Jesus is pointless. And the stuff we AREN'T doing and arguing about theologically, the stuff that characterized His life on earth, the stuff that people THINK is abnormal - is really normal....healing the sick - right where they are, when they need it, raising the dead, proclaiming freedom for those in bondage, loving the unloveable, etc.

I'm glad you feel like you're starting to figure out how to reclaim your faith. I wish you well on your journey back!

re: cynicism...gee, I'm glad I never have to struggle with that! ;-)

How often have you heard the c-word and just cringed? I know some of you have.

Don't look at me. When I hear the C-word, I mostly think "oh goody, someone new to discuss philosophy of religion with".

Whether this is better or worse for the Christian is a matter of personal preference... :)

I thought the words about someone coming along with a fresh perspective and starting a movement and then dying and having all their thoughts frozen and then enforced, consequently killing innovation, were very enlightening.
