Authentically Me
Nov 13th, 2007 by Amanda
One of the things that I’ve been working hard on is trying to care less about what other people think of me. I think I’m doing a good job on it. That’s one reason why my language has become a bit more colorful (by my usual standards, at least). If I think it in my head, I should be free to write it, regardless of what other people may think of me. Right?
So I’m trying to be authentically me.

Good for you. Of course, I’ve said many times that if people can’t like you for you, then they really aren’t worth the time. People don’t belong in molds not of their own making.
Funny, though, that you’re using more colorful language and mine’s been toned down considerably over the last year.
That’s awesome. It’s one of the things I am always working on. Trying to be as genuine as I can possibly be.
I often say things like $%&*!!:&&^%$$#@!@@#((*&^&^%%$#@! - %$#@&!!! And I am told that I could out-cuss a sailor, which is a pretty amazing feat for a preacher’s daughter.
I am working on good words coming out of my mouth - not for anyone else, just because they reflect what is inside and I am cleaning THAT up!
