Child Ministers

Here’s an indicator of how much I’ve changed. I used to think that these child ministers were adorable. Now, they make me sad.
But by the grace of God, I am what I am.

Seems like there’s a good reason why pastors or ministers were expected to be married…
Yeah, they make me really sad too. I don’t want to denigrate children and deny that they can have faith and knowledge of God, but there is no way the immature mind of a child can be saddled with the responsibility that comes as a pastor. That is absolutely ridiculous. Children parrot what they are told - I have a feeling that what they are hearing is coming from mommy and daddy, not God.
That’s why it makes me sad. I was going to make some commentary on it, but opted not to because the first thoughts that popped into my head other than how sad were direct products of my fundamentalist upbringing. (The same upbringing that has spawned these child ministers).
