I love tv on DVD. No commercials. And you can watch an entire season in two days (if you’re insane, like me). And because of TV on DVD, I’ve discovered an incredible show.
Grey’s Anatomy.
No, I haven’t been living under a rock, but I don’t watch much actual TV. My best friend loves the show, got seasons 1 and 2, and now I’m hooked. The writing on the show is fantastic–there’s always something in every episode that makes me burst out laughing, and often something will bring me to tears. All in the course of an hour.
If you haven’t seen it, I definitely suggest you check it out!

Grey’s is one of my favorite shows. Actually it’s the ONLY show I watched for the entire season. 24 didn’t last very long and I only occasionally caught House.
I got addicted to Grey’s and gave it up. I loved the writing, the episodic story lines (did you see the one with the guy whose wife was just a horrible, naggy #$%@! and she just wouldn’t die - even when the staff made awful errors, she lived…funny!), and I loved the characters, but I really have no connection or use for Grey herself. It’s weird, but she could leave the show and I’d like it just as much, maybe better?
But I still like to watch “Prison Break,” purely because of Wentworth Miller (is that his name? He is Michael on the show). What a cutie!
I’ve never watched an episode of 24 all the way through, and I’ve never watched Grey’s Anatomy.
24 just never held my interest, mainly because I didn’t know enough of the backstory to get it. I never watched Grey’s because my wife is a nurse, and she gets upset at most of those shows. “That’s not how you treat a mytocardial infarction!!” (Okay, I made up the disease, but you get the idea.)
However, there are two shows that we’ve caught nearly every (if not all) episode of. House, M.D. and Bones. House because she doesn’t find *ahem* as much to pick at, and Bones just because it’s enjoyable. We actually both get a chuckle out of how the atheist is portrayed in Bones.
Oh, and if you think the season on DVD is good, try TiVo (or some other DVR system). You don’t have to wait for them to come out on DVD, but you do have to fast forward through the commercials.
I love both House and Bones. I haven’t been able to watch them often because they usually came on in the same time slot as a show that I liked more (Veronica Mars).
I’d LOVE a TiVo, I just can’t afford one. It’s on my Christmas list though.
We got a DVR with our DirecTV. It’s awesome.
Oh, and if you like science and humor, Eureka starts tonight on SciFi, if you get that channel. Actually, there’s only a little science involved. It’s more fun watching the sheriff (the main character) interacting with all the geniuses in the town.
Argh! For some reason, WP isn’t notifying me of your comments, Berlzebub. Growl.
I want a Scrubs season DVD!
