Have you heard about the new ad campaign in Brazil for Fit Light Yogurt? It uses overweight women in classic cinematic poses and carries the tag line, “Forget about it. Men’s preferences will never change. Fit Light Yogurt.”
Regardless of their size, these women are beautiful! I may be overweight, but I’m still beautiful – and there are men out there who think I’m beautiful, too. We live in a world where women are constantly bombarded with images of “beauty” that tell us that we must be so thin our bones are showing but also have breast enhancements. These ads perpetuate that. These ads tell women that men will never be attracted to a woman with curves and extra weight. These ads are wrong.

Our cultures view of beauty is so shallow… I am glad my wife does not apply that lithmus test to me because I ain’s exactly tiny!!
Beauty is what is left when the body is stripped away and what all that is left is the soul. I think a lot of people who are “beautiful” would be quite ugly and unsightly if you removed the body.
I agree with Carl. And when you hear about the people in the world who’ve made a difference and therefore have become timeless, most of them were not so great to look at. It was their character that counted.
Just plain dumb…and bad marketing.
Women buy more than men, specifically groceries. It is hard to see how this campaign would be successful. Since when does making women feel bad about themselves cause them to buy your product?…except for maybe diet druugs…or hair color…or zit cream…or wrinkle reducer…..uh oh. I am sensing a theme here.
