It was definitely painful to watch, but I was very proud of Elisabeth. She stood up for herself without name-calling and resorting to childing insults.
One reason all my high school friends were guys.
I’m glad she stood up for herself. Rosie had a point, though, about the media capitalizing on “Fat, lesbian, annoying Rosie picking on little, sweet, Christian Elizabeth.”
I don’t watch The View (live or taped), but I have seen clips here and there, and for the most part, I don’t like any of them, except for that young African-American woman who took Star’s place for a few days. (She was on Everybody Loves Raymond and some sitcom with Andy Dick, also.)
Joy Behar is an untalented hack that makes me grind my teeth, and Elisabeth is the “token” conservative. My problem with them all is that, except for Baba Wawters, none of them are truly knowledgeable in current events.
BUT, Elisabeth did impress me when she finally raised her finger and said (paraphrasing), “I’m not cowardly. Why don’t you answer your own (rhetorical) question?” Meaning that, if you’re not saying our troops are terrorists, why are you asking ‘who are the terrorists in Iraq?’
Someone has to explain to me why Christians overwhelmingly support the war in Iraq. Is it just to follow a conservative leader, come hell or high water, or is there something else I’m missing?
I’ve taken the two people out of the argument though- support for Hasselbomb ALMOST always equals support for the war (read some blogs to see what I mean)

What? I’d say it’s more accurate to say that support for Hasselback is contempt for Rosie. And what do you mean you’ve taken the two people out of the argument? Amanda’s post was on how great it was for Hasselback to finally unload on Rosie with a GREAT comeback! I love to hear it over and over again…”what’s cowardly is not answering your own quote-rhetorical-quote question.” For once, volume did not defeat logic. Cue the Rocky theme.
that was a very heated discussion…i almost couldn’t watch it.

I had to turn it off…couldn’t take the arguing…but I ended up loving Elisabeth as well.

That was magnificent.

I don’t necessarily support the war, but at this point I think that we need to finish what we started.
The point of the post wasn’t, however, supporting the war. I was pointing out how I loved Elisabeth for standing up for herself.
