Hate crimes? Isn't any violent act, a hate crime? And now this? It paves the way for more restrictions. My prediction? Turmoil is to come, and backlash from both the extremist views of extremist conservatives and extremist liberals. Sex belongs in the bedroom. As far as sexuality goes, I should still have the freedom to say what I want in regards to my opinions about sexual behaviour. And you should have the right to disagree with me. That's what freedom and democracy are all about, and the sheep all find it fine and dandy... Wake up people, wake up. Why do we need special legislation in cases where there's a minority involved? And I <i>am</i> curious about why sexual orientation and gender identity are added to the special protections. The laws that are in place are designed to protect everyone, <i>including</i> minorities. What's wrong with that? It's not "campaigning for the right to hate." Violence can be and is dealt with legally, but hate is something that needs to be dealt with spiritually. It’s already a crime to commit an act of violence against anyone, minority or not.
