Brad Paisley and Ticks

I’m a redneck. Or at least a redneck by association (my entire family on all sides is made up of rednecks in the South). So it should be no surprise that I love Brad Paisley’s new song. It’s hilarious–and I love it that Brad can do an incredibly romantic song like She’s Everything and then release a comedic song like this one next (and he wrote both, btw).

Listen here.

If you just can’t stomach listening to a country song (but you should, the guitar is amazing)…read the lyrics below the fold and see why this song is so great.

Every time you take a sip
In this smoky atmosphere
You press that bottle to your lips
And I wish I was your beer
And in the small there of your back
Your jeans are playin’ peek-a-boo
I’d like to see the other half
Of your butterfly tattoo

Pre Chorus

Hey, that gives me an idea
Let’s get out of this bar
Drive out into the country
And find a place to park

Chorus

(’Cause) I’d like to see you
Out in the moonlight
I’d like to kiss you (baby)
Way back in the sticks
I’d like to walk you
Through a field of wildflowers
And I’d like to check you for ticks
(Oh, I’d sure like to check you for ticks)
(Come on)

2nd Verse

I know the perfect little path
Out in these woods I used to hunt
Don’t worry, babe, I’ve got your back
And I’ve also got your front
I’d hate to waste a night like this
I’ll keep you safe, you wait and see
The only thing allowed to crawl all over you
When we get there, is me

Pre Chorus

You know every guy in here tonight
Would like to take you home
But I’ve got way more class than them
Babe, that ain’t what I want

(Repeat Chorus)

Bridge

Now oooh, you never know where one might be
And oooh, there’s lots of places that are hard to reach (I gotcha)

(Repeat Chorus)

I’m sorry to leave this as a comment on your website, but I couldn’t find your email anywhere. I saw your post on WordPress about the Archives and have a similar problem with a website using the connections theme. I’m not that familiar with WP, could you please walk me through exactly what you did to create the archive and then get it to work with connections?
Thanks for your time. Please email me directly. – Frank

What great taste we have – I love Brad Paisley, too. I hadn’t heard this song. Cute! Girl, you are awesome. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness (as in being full of thought about things :) )

Haven’t heard that one yet. He’s so concerned for her safety, isn’t he. My wife is bonkers for “The World”. I like “Alcohol” myself.

i heard this song for the 1st time today, after you posted this, but i didn’t read the lyrics then. it’s hysterical. not to meantion i was on my way to an area that some people would call “the sticks,” so that just made it funnier.
