My Dark Secret…

Okay, so this is really no secret for those of you who really know me.

I am the world’s biggest fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and I’m not talking about the campy 1992 movie. I own all 7 seasons on DVD, and all 5 seasons of Angel on DVD.

There has been no better show on television (although Firefly fans will disagree with me…but both projects were from the brain of Joss Whedon).  The writing was brilliant; the subject matter was genius. This is a show that people are still talking about 4 years after it ended. Saturday is the 10 year anniversary of the pilot.

This month, Dark Horse Comics is releasing the first issue of Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 8. If you want major spoilers (basically a complete recap, minus dialogue) go here.

Read a great article on why Buffy still slays us.

The video below is one of the best scenes from the show:

  1. Grumpy Teacher

One of these days, I have got to watch that show.

  2. You really do. It’s the best show ever. I have several clips of it on my Vox. :)

  3. Hmmm. Dark secret? Or, guilty pleasure? Like my dad said, “It takes all kinds of people to make up this world…”
I love that you love this show. I feel less terrible for loving “King of the Hill.”

  4. If you think that’s one of the best scenes, I’m afraid you must have overlooked the episode where Xander and Dawnie argue over the pronunciation of the word, m’fashnik.
(What. I um, heard about it from…. a friend! That’s it, a friend!)

  5. Well I said one of the best (to be honest, it’s kind of hard to narrow down!).

And welcome to the dark side. :)

  6. While I do admit that Buff was quite well done, I would still argue that Whedon’s Firefly still takes the cake. :)

  7. I haven’t seen Firefly yet. I did get to see Serenity, which I loved. One of these days I’ll get around to buying Firefly on DVD.

  8. I like the layout of your blog and I’m going to do the same thing for mine. Do you have any tips? Please PM ME on yahoo @ AmandaLovesYou702
