It looks like the AFA succeeded: NBC has edited out the portions of Madonna’s concert special in order to cut the scenes where she is singing while on a cross.
Read my thoughts on Madonna’s mock crucifixion.

This makes me ssad, but I’ll deal because it provides another opportunity for dialogue:
My problem with this whole thing is that the AFA bleated the loudest about the whole cross scene. They were attempting to SILENCE Madonna’s voice. Here’s the issue.
A human resource director was fired somewhere because he wrote “vote for marriage” on the back of his truck. The AFA is again freaking out because his rights were violated.
The AFA cannot have it both ways. If they want that man to be able to write “vote for marriage” on his truck (incidentally, I think he should be allowed to write whatever the hell he wants, even if I don’t agree with it), then they also need to be alright (or at the very least complacent) with Madonna’s cross scene.
Free speech is free for ALL, not just those you agree with!!!!!!!!!
