I’ve reared my ugly head again. If you read my previous post, you know what I’m talking about. I allowed my anger to speak rather than my love for the Lord. I fear I’ve done more harm than good. The exchange went on a bit further than what I posted below, and I’m downright ashamed of my childish behaviour. I did apologize to Naomi, but I fear that isn’t good enough.
I’m never going to be good enough for God; I know that. But do I have to keep proving it on a daily basis?

Amanda, there is so much power in an apology! It is REALLY hard to eat crow with someone who has been so horrible and has assaulted the foundation for who you are. Your head is NOT ugly! Your humility is beautiful and I am inspired.
I love your passion!
The apology was a good move. I’ve spent some time at the ex-Christian site in the past, and I realized that all the arguing – while both fun and tiring – wasn’t what I was there for. It often becomes counterproductive arguments about who’s right instead of what’s right. Then I think the thing to do is sow the seed on more fertile soil.
Oh yeah, and your enthusiasm really is something else!
Amanda, I agree with Cheryl: your head is definitely not ugly. It maybe got a little heated there for a moment, but you are a beautiful child of the Lord.
Is there an e-mail with which I can reach you? I would like to share a couple of comments without posting for all to see.
Maureen,
My email is praisingfool@yahoo.com
Thanks for sharing all of this Amanda. Sorry I am a little late on the uptake. When I travel I can’t keep up with all my blog friends like I would like.
Humilty is the inconspicuous virtue. There are no humble awards or statues to humulity.
It takes humilty to apologize when you are wrong. It takes even more to apologize in a world-wide forum. May God lift your chin and cause His glory to shine on your face.
I have recently had to do the same thing. I got out of control with my blog and had to issue an apology. I made it a permanant page on my blog so that I don’t forget how stupid I can be.
I wrote,
“Those who have visited this site prior to July 2006 know that a significant change has taken place.
Most evident is a style change. Most notably is a focus change. This site is still dedicated to teaching liberty but the tact I am taking has changed.
I, like a fool, forgot where the real power is. I engaged in the ranting and raving against the thieves of liberty all the while knowing that my efforts were misguided. It suited my sinful desires to rail against people.
I have dropped the former method in favor of the real power to change men’s hearts – Christ and Him crucified.
In no other can true liberty be found; in no other can unalienable rights be secured.
Christus Rex”

Be of good cheer for, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” Psalm 51:17
Peace to you.
